This notice explains how Real Awake ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit realawake.co.uk or submit an application to attend one of our events.

Real Awake is an invite-only conscious weekends community. The data controller is Ben Lowrey — ben@realawake.co.uk.

1. Data we collect

Website visitors — via cookies and analytics (only with your consent):

• IP address and approximate location
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Pages visited, time on site, and referral source
• Interactions with Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertisements

Event applicants — via the online application form:

• Full name, email address, phone number
• Date of birth and postcode
• Social media handle(s)
• Application responses and personal statement
• Digital signature (declaration of terms)
• Health and dietary information (allergies, special requirements) — this is special-category data under UK GDPR and is collected only with your explicit consent

We do not sell or rent your data to any third party.

4. Cookies and tracking

Analytics (GA4) and advertising (Meta Pixel) cookies only load after you give consent via the banner on this site. For a full list of cookies, their providers, and durations, see our Cookie Policy. You can change your preference at any time from that page.

5. How long we keep your data

• Application data: up to 2 years after the event, then deleted or anonymised
• Email correspondence: up to 1 year
• GA4 analytics data: up to 14 months (Google's default retention)
• Cookie consent preference: 1 year (stored in your browser)

6. Your rights under UK GDPR

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations)
• Restriction — ask us to pause processing in certain circumstances
• Portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent — at any time, for any consent-based processing (including cookies via the Cookie Policy)

7. Security

Application data is stored in access-controlled Google Sheets accessible only to event organisers. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store payment card data. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date.
