Ecstatic Dance London has been running guided, alcohol-free conscious dance in the capital since 2009, making it one of the longest-established ecstatic dance communities in the UK. Sessions follow a simple, consistent structure: an opening circle, a DJ-led guided dance journey across a wave of music, and a closing integration. The dance floor operates by a few clear principles - no choreography, no talking, and no phones - so that participants can move freely, without instruction or expectation, treating the dance as a form of meditation, expression and emotional release grounded in shared presence and a consent-based culture. The organisers run a regular weekly programme across London venues, including a Cacao Dance Tribe on Friday nights and an Ecstatic Rave on Saturday nights in the Tufnell Park area, alongside offerings such as aerial relaxation pods for suspended stillness. Beyond the weekly sessions, they host larger gatherings including a multi-day Ecstatic Dance Festival and seasonal residential retreats. The events are hosted and facilitated by Seth Newman, who DJs and guides, together with organiser and sound guide Diana Upite. The ethos centres on providing a welcoming, sober space where people can reconnect with their bodies and each other through free-form movement.
Real Awake runs immersive, sober conscious-community weekends in beautiful UK locations — ceremony, movement, music and deep connection.
